It dawned on me about four hours after my last post that today is Thursday.  Not Friday.  Oh, well.

Super Saturday – Part 3

What would a super-Saturday be with out women making crafts? It wouldn’t be that super, would it? Here is what I made:

Transparency Pictures. So simple. Take a 5×7 picture that you like, and a quote that you like. Print the quote on a 6×8 piece of transparency and place it over the picture. Put in a frame. So simple. So cute. So powerful.

Be tiles. These were so easy to make! It took like half a second. I cleaned the tile with Windex and rubbed the vinyl lettering on it. So easy. So cute. Now, I just need to figure out a way to display it.

Scrapbooks. Isn’t this the cutest thing you have ever seen? We made them by gluing two pieces of chip-board together and covering it with paper. We then punched holes, added jump rings and ribbon and voila! An adorable Christmas scrapbook! The pages inside are a deep red, but yet to be embellished. So excited to fill this book this Christmas.

Top all of that off with a lunch of Chicken Salad Croissant sandwiches, ice cream pie and your super-Saturday is complete. And totally super.

Our new house…

FlagFlagFlagWe’ve been in our new house for about two weeks now, and we are enjoying it.  It is smaller than our last house but the floor plan really flows nicely.  You come in to the living room, which is where we have put our sectional and piano.  The dining room is painted red but has carpet on the floor and I don’t like that.  The kitchen is just the right size with lots of cupboards and a breakfast bar.  The family room has the recliner, rocking chair and banana chairs along with our entertainment center and tv.  There is a half bath, a storage room, laundry room and a coat closet on the main floor as well.  Up stairs is an office and the bedrooms.  N’s is yellow with one pink wall and pink sheer curtains.  She loves it!  The boy’s room is blue and needs to be repainted.  Our bedroom is sage green and rose and definately needs to be repainted.  Our cabin theme furniture and bedding doesn’t match.  The kids bathroom is a fish theme and so cute.

And here is my favorite thing about our new house:

Our last house was stucco so DH didn’t want me to drill a hole and risk a crack to put up the flag holder.  Well, this house has a flag holder so the first thing to get put out was our flag!  So excited about it!

Prayer Request

A family that we have been close to while we have lived here had a baby several weeks ago who was born with a rare disease called Muscle-Eye-Brain Disease.  This brought him (and them) so many challenges through out his little life.  He is the youngest of 6 children, three sisters and two brothers.  The family lost one little boy to this disease about 3.5 years ago.  Yesterday, this little boy died.  He was needed back with his Heavenly Father and can be with his big brother now.  Please pray for this family. Pray for their children, so that they will have understanding and comfort.  Thanks.

Thanks

SF Building

I took this picture in San Francisco when we went there in October 2005.  I loved this building (I can’t remember what it was called though), and the pictures turned out really cool.

I think that I finally figured out how to insert a photo.  Finally figuring this blogging thing out!  Now if I can just figure out how to put a web link in a word….

Busy Weekend

We had a busy weekend here…..

Saturday morning I had to go to a stake leadership meeting, and afterwards we went to the BYU – USAFA baseball game.  BYU won by a huge amount.  They were ten runs ahead when we left at the end of the 6th inning.  Only $15 for a family pass to the game.  Great deal.   After this we went to a park in Provo and met up with my sister and her kids and my parents for dinner of Albertson’s Fried Chicken.  The kids loved playing on the equipment and walking along the paths.  By the time we got home it was time to get the kids in bed and sit down and relax for a few minutes (and work on my lesson for Sunday)…

Sunday the kids wanted to ride their bikes so we walked to church.  After church the kids watched movies and I tried to gather the rest of the permission forms for the youth conference trek that were due yesterday (got all but two!)  Bryan made dinner (pulled pork on tortillas with rice and black beans) and afterwards we sat around in the front yard and enjoyed the nice weather.  After the kids were in bed, Bryan and I watched Stranger Than Fiction starring Will Ferrell.  I liked it.  Thought that it was well done.  There was one scene with some naked butts.  I laughed though.
