Twilight….Stephenie Meyer
I have been told by everyone on the planet how great this book is. I think that I am the last person on earth to read it. My friend couldn’t believe that I didn’t quit reading the last book that I read to start reading Twilight. Through out the first half of the book I kept thinking that I need to put it down. I thought, “this is going to give me nightmares!” Luckily, it didn’t. I read just a chapter or two and night but by the time that I was three fourths the way through it, I couldn’t put it down. I will say though, I didn’t love it. I thought it was good, and interesting and while I will read the sequels, I probably wont read it again. I am glad that I didn’t buy it (thanks, mom, for letting me borrow it!) I have the second one, but I think that I need to read something Christmas-y right now, instead of more vampire stories. Three stars from me.
A Christmas Melody….Anita Stansfield
I wasn’t feeling very Christmas-y after reading about vampires so I switched gears to read this light, romantic, easy read from LDS author Anita Stansfield. I like reading her books because I know that they will be clean. This is the story of a young lady, Melody, who is rising above a life of abuse and making something of herself, when she meets Matthew. Of course, they fall in love. Four star from me.
And now, I am off to read some more about vampires in book two…..

I loved A Christmas Melody. I haven’t read any of the Meyer books yet, although they are on hold at the library. I’ve held out because I just don’t think they can be as great as everyone raves about! We’ll see.
Thanks for the review.
You aren’t the last person on earth, because I haven’t read any of them. It’ll probably take years since I rare buy into pop fiction until the craze dies down. Besides that, before I read those I need to read Harry Potter!
I have read 2 books in the twilight series, I loved them! But like you, Amanda, I won’t read them again. I am excited to read book 3, but I have to put some time between book 2 before I do it. I don’t want to get bored of it! Thanks for the review!
You’re not strange not to love Twilight. To be honest, I’m happy for you! I was embarrassed at how obsessed I got while reading them. But now, the hype is done, and being removed from the books is good –but I’ll still be happy to read the 4th one next year. Stephenie Meyer is a very good writer.
I can only read Anita Stansfield when I’m in a happy mood. I mean, I enjoy romance, but sometimes her romance stories are too sweet and completely unrealistic. But I guess that’s the point? We need that kind of escape every now and again!
I’m with Cheryl – I got way too into them. Yes, I can admit it. I fell in love with a teenage vampire. I hated the second one (because E was hardly in it) and will get the 4th the day it comes out. I resisted for a long time because I hate trendy stuff, but then I couldn’t help myself. LURV me some Edward.
